The European Innovation Council (EIC) invites EIC-supported startups and scale-ups to explore business opportunities with one of the world’s leading space manufacturers, Thales Alenia Space (TAS).
EIC-backed companies selected by TAS for this initiative will receive tailored business support and participate in an exclusive pitching and matchmaking session with TAS experts in Turin, Italy, on 20–21 May 2025.
TAS is looking for highly innovative solutions at the intersection of the space and automotive sectors, unlocking new markets and developing cutting-edge solutions in these industries.

Who can apply?
Thales Alenia Space (TAS) is seeking innovative solutions in the automotive and space sectors to expand new markets and drive competitiveness in space exploration, telecommunications, Earth observation, navigation, and the lunar economy.
They are particularly interested in the following focus areas:
- Advanced Materials: Use of space- or automotive-grade materials to enhance durability, weight reduction, and performance of space and terrestrial vehicles (e.g., lightweight materials, carbon fibre composites for extreme temperature ranges, thermal management materials, nanomaterials).
- Components, EEE, Actuators, Sensors, Units, Mechanisms: Cross-contamination between the space and automotive sectors to design and manufacture mechanical or electrical components and units for terrestrial, orbital, and lunar/martian mobility applications (e.g., high-torque brushless DC motors, precision sensors, advanced actuators, environmental sensors, haptic feedback technologies, fault-detection sensors).
- Data & Connectivity: Enhancing vehicle connectivity and data management through satellite technologies in Earth or lunar orbit constellations (e.g., satellite-based navigation and connectivity, high-precision mapping, remote sensing, environmental monitoring, real-time navigation, satellite-enhanced vehicle connectivity platforms, cybersecurity).
- Manufacturing & Robotic Mechanisms: Processes, methods, and technologies for high-volume automotive production that can support the development of in-orbit manufacturing, including production, testing, and validation (e.g., robotic arms and mechanisms, additive manufacturing, large-scale production techniques, in-orbit manufacturing enablers).
Selection Process
The information provided in the application form will be shared with Thales Alenia Space, which will select participants based on their business interests and strategic objectives.
The EIC team will contact all selected applicants after the selection process is completed. However, no feedback or recommendations will be provided to those who are not selected.
Commitment Required
Participants must be available throughout the programme, including:
- Preparatory phase (online training sessions, pitch verification, business proposal review).
- Event days (in-person): 20–21 May 2025 in Turin, Italy.
- Follow-up activities.
Selected companies must be represented by senior executives and will be responsible for arranging and covering their own travel and accommodation costs.
